ENGWE L20 3.0 Pro Electric Bike

The ENGWE L20 3.0 Pro is a compact step-through electric bike designed for riders who want a comfortable, practical and powerful bike for everyday journeys and longer rides. Its mid-drive motor, full-suspension system and wide urban-hybrid tyres give it a balanced combination of assistance, comfort and stability.

The compact frame makes the L20 3.0 Pro easier to manage than a larger full-size electric bike, while the folding design provides additional flexibility when storing or transporting it.

Smooth mid-drive assistance

At the centre of the L20 3.0 Pro is a 250W Mivice X700 mid-drive motor producing up to 100Nm of torque. Rather than simply delivering power independently of the rider, the torque sensor responds to your pedalling input and adjusts the assistance accordingly.

This gives the bike a more responsive and natural feel, particularly when starting from a standstill, climbing gradients or changing your pace during a journey.

The bike has five levels of pedal assistance, allowing you to choose how much electrical support you want while riding.

720Wh removable battery

The L20 3.0 Pro uses a 48V 15Ah removable battery, providing a total capacity of 720Wh. The battery uses 21700 cells with a battery management system, and ENGWE states that LG or Samsung cells may be supplied depending on availability, with the same stated specification.

ENGWE quotes a laboratory-tested range of up to 160km, with its stated real-world figures of approximately 140km in PAS 1, 110km in PAS 3 and 96km in PAS 5.

These figures are manufacturer test figures and should be treated as a guide rather than a guaranteed distance. Actual range can vary considerably according to rider weight, terrain, weather, temperature, tyre pressure, riding style and the level of assistance being used.

Full suspension for everyday comfort

The L20 3.0 Pro has a full-suspension setup, combining an adjustable hydraulic front fork with 30mm of rear suspension travel.

This helps absorb bumps and vibration when riding over uneven roads, gravel-paved paths and other suitable surfaces. The suspension is particularly useful for riders who value a smoother and more comfortable ride during longer journeys.

The 20 × 3.0-inch urban-hybrid tyres provide a broad contact area with the road, while a 3mm anti-puncture layer adds an extra layer of protection for everyday riding.

Easy-access step-through frame

The L20 3.0 Pro uses a 6061 aluminium alloy step-through frame, making mounting and dismounting easier than with a traditional high-step design.

It is designed for riders approximately 155–190cm (5'1"–6'3") tall and has a maximum payload capacity of 150kg.

The frame can also be folded. When folded, the bike measures approximately 102 × 53 × 78cm, which can make storage more convenient when space is limited.

At approximately 32.8kg, however, this is still a substantial electric bike. The folding mechanism is therefore particularly useful for storage and transport rather than for carrying the bike over long distances.

Hydraulic braking and Shimano gearing

The L20 3.0 Pro is equipped with dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes and large 180mm rotors at the front and rear. This provides controlled braking suitable for a bike of this size and weight.

For changing gears, ENGWE uses a Shimano Tourney seven-speed rear derailleur with a Shimano SL-M315-7R shifter. This gives riders a useful selection of gears for everyday roads, inclines and changes in riding conditions.

Practical features for everyday riding

The bike includes several features designed around everyday convenience.

A centrally positioned 3.5-inch colour LCD display provides riding information, while the ENGWE app can be used for additional control and connected functions.

The L20 3.0 Pro also includes an ENGWE IoT module with GPS, 4G and Bluetooth connectivity. The front light has a 30-lux output and an integrated electronic horn, while the rear light automatically becomes brighter when braking or when movement is detected.

An 8A fast charger is supplied, allowing the large 720Wh battery to be recharged more quickly than with a conventional lower-output charger.

The bike also comes equipped with front and rear mudguards, a rear rack and a kickstand.
